About this blog

Nice to meet you. My name is Miwa Yoshida, a Japanese patent attorney.

I have been involved in various forms of work in the IP industry from 2007 until now. I opened my own firm in January 2022 and have been involved in IP work for a drug discovery start-up company since April of the same year.

In this blog,

  • FoodTech (FoodTech technology, related intellectual property information, etc.)
  • IPNews (foreign IP and other IP information, health tech and other technology information, etc.)
  • My business(about legal study, IP industry, etc.)
  • Blog (current affairs, learning foreign languages as my life’s work, health topics, etc.)

I am writing primarily about the above themes.

In particular, I have recently been writing articles related to FoodTech, especially as it relates to intellectual property.

Please do not hesitate to contact me.

About IP Spot Consultation Service

  • For example, the JPO website below provides an easy-to-understand overview of the IP system and the flow of application procedures in each jurisdiction and how to respond to them.

  • However, although it is not mentioned in the above website, it would be extremely difficult for a layperson to handle all of these matters without a representative. On the other hand, there are certainly people who are able to do some of these things on their own. (We also have a collection of tips for those who can do it on their own. Japanese text only, paid article)

Tips for those who want to obtain intellectual property rights in Japan

  • In such cases, we offer an IPspot consultation service to provide our clients with the use of a representative on a spot basis (we also offer career change and career consultation services in the IP industry).
  • For in-person consultations, we offer online consultations (Google Meet, Zoom, and other tools on request) in 30-minute (6,600 yen) and 60-minute (13,200 yen) time slots (tax included), so please use these options as appropriate. →We will also accept e-mail-based consultations (3,300 yen/one question (tax included)).

For a detailed self-introduction, please refer to the note page (Japanese only), and I hope you will also refer to that page.

These days I mainly write articles about FoodTech.

Many of the articles are linked to this blog post.

We also have a notebook magazine that includes articles about the IP industry and careers (paid articles) and IP tips from the perspective of both clients and attorneys.

We have also started sending out information via Spotify regarding the content related to the above note article.
